Glamour Doll Eyes, Urban Decay Book of Shadows 4 and more!

So, after hearing alot about Glamour Doll Eyes pigments from alot of the girls on YouTube, I decided to check them out. I ordered 8 of the sample size jars. They are GORGEOUS! The sample jars are $2.50 each and you get a decent amount. They are so pigmented and pretty. Worth every penny. Check them out NOW!!!!

They show up nicely wet or dry.

Next is my Christmas gift to myself :)

This lovely thing here is the Urban Decay Book of Shadows 4. Urban Decay is my favorite makeup brand. The shadows in this box are so pretty and there's so many looks you can create with this. It comes with 16 eye shadows, a full size 24/7 liquid eyeliner, a sample of the Super Curl mascara and a small Primer Potion in the original color. It also comes with a speaker and cable you hook up to your phone and a card you scan so you can watch tutorials. I've never seen anything like this.

Also I've been hearing alot about the L'Oreal visible lift foundation and how great it is. I just purchased it and I have to say, I like it alot. The brush is pretty good and it doesn't feel heavy on my skin. I'm happy with it.

This is just a random picture of some of my makeup. lol. I'm running out of room!

Anyway, thanks for reading! x0x0

Before you judge someone...

This is entry is about the harsh remarks made about Christina Aguilera and her weight gain...

Anyone who really knows me, knows that I absolutely love Christina Aguilera. She is hands down one of my favorite performers of all time. She has a beautiful voice that is raw, real and doesn't need any enhancing. Girl has pipes of steal. Not only does she have the voice of an angel on steroids, she is gorgeous. She came out in 1998 when I was about 13. She's only 3 years older than me and she's been on the music scene for about 13 years now. Obviously, she doesn't look the same as she did when she first started her career. She's been married and even had a baby. Now, going through a divorce she's been a little reckless and put on some weight. Now, I don't know about you but I've known some women who either gain or lose weight when they go through something like that. Hers is just in public. Just because you gain a little weight and you aren't ideal to what "people should look like" doesn't make you any less talented. Her voice didn't gain weight, she did. She's a singer. Not a supermodel. Honestly, I don't even think she looks bad. When Britney decided to shave her head everyone made fun of her without realizing maybe she was actually human and was having a lot of problems. She even put on a little weight. Look at the girl now, she's probably at the peek of her career. The bitch came back with a vengeance and she's killin' it.

This post isn't going to be completely about celebs though, it's just what sparked my insight. No one looks exactly the same as they did from the ages of 19-30. I mean, I'd love to. Who'd complain about looking young forever? Unfortunately that's not the way the human body works. We are hard on our bodies. We work, and eat things that aren't healthy, smoke, drink and have children. Our bodies go through many changes and when someone who was once rail thin gains a little weight they get scrutinized for it. Women who were thin and petite have babies and end up not being able to get rid of the "mommy pooch" and their husbands or just mean ignorant people call them fat and make them hate themselves. It's sad. It's not just weight either. People get made fun of because of their looks, their hair, their sexual preference. If we were all the same and looked the same the world would be a boring place. While I do agree that one should always look professional and act professional in a workplace, who cares what you do or how you act outside of work as long as you aren't hurting yourself or anyone else. If you want to leave work on friday, dye your hair hot pink and go to a few punk shows and wash it out and break out your business suit and briefcase Monday morning, go ahead! Who's stopping you? It's your life, and your body.

People are so quick to judge each other based on what they see. I'm guilty of it and so is the rest of the world. It's just sad that some people can't handle the torment because they hear it all day, every day and they end up ending their own lives to quiet the pain. These are young kids too. Kids whose lives haven't even started yet.

I have friends who get judged for being too skinny, too over weight, too flat chested, too big chested. There's no such thing as perfection when it comes to the human body. One foot is always bigger than the other. One boob is always bigger than the other. You may have one blue eye and one green eye. I have straight friends, gay friends and friends who don't know if they like boys or girls. That's what makes them who they are.... and I have some pretty awesome friends. Our differences are what makes hanging out so exciting. We all have different backgrounds, different ways of saying and doing things. We learn from each other.

So in conclusion to my rant, if you want the "perfect" person, Go out and buy a Barbie or Ken doll. They all look the same, never change and they don't stick up for themselves. Just remember, you have to buy her friends too...

LED lashes?

How would you like your eyes to LITERALLY light up? These were made by Soomi Park and have been seen in Japan. I'm not sure if they were just used for photos, or if they are actually being sold. I think they look pretty cool but might be a little uncomfortable. I'd still definitely try them out though! lol

Now that's what I call a twinkle in your eye!

What do you guys think? <3

Who and What influences me?

I've been into makeup ever since I was little. I loved watching anything that involved the application of makeup and I've been wearing makeup since I was about 10. As a teenager I was more interested in other things, but I always did my friends hair and makeup for them. A few years ago I really started getting involved in it and my obsession has doubled. I always had a natural talent for it.

I get influenced by watching the girls on youtube, looking in magazines, tv etc. Inspiration is all around me.  Even certain colors that stick out to me, patterns, foods, drinks.

There's one person that really sticks out to me and that's Alexa Pricso aka. the Glam Fairy. I think she is amazing and she comes up with some off the wall but amazing concepts and she's who I'd love to be like. She's talented, opinionated, and successful. I really want to visit the Glam Factory to see her and her workspace. I'd be overjoyed. lol. I'm glad she isn't on Jerseylicious anymore. While I still watch the show, I always liked the episodes where they focused on Alexa more than the rest of the cast. I was beyond excited when I found out she has her own show. She's the only one who's actually known in the industry and she deserved it. So, hopefully I'll get to meet her one day soon!!

I'm back!

So, I've decided that even though I have my website, I'm still going to use this blog. This one will mainly be reviews on beauty items and some other things. My site will just be more for different looks I do and what I use. I'll post a link to my site in the side bar.

The summer is coming to an end!

This summer flew by! Pretty soon the weather will be cooler. The nights will be longer and the smell of pumpkin spice will fill the air! I can almost taste the pumpkin spice lattes!

With change of season also comes Fall colors! Lots of browns, reds, oranges and golds! Warm sweaters and cute boots! I can't wait!

Also with fall comes my favorite holiday, Halloween! I have so many ideas running through my head about costume ideas. My favorite so far is an updated spin on the Bride of Frankenstein. My hair is black so I'd leave it down, curl it and add some white extensions. My outfit would be almost like a punk version of her. Like a rockabilly version of her. My second idea is a zombie prom queen. Blood, rips and tears, the whole nine, but keep it somewhat pretty. My third is a pinup girl, or a pinup zombie. I'm really leaning towards the first one though. I'd even add a fake tattoo on my arm of frankenstein and put "Frankie" under it. haha.

I've also been shopping around for some blushes in fall colors. I have so many fall eye shadows and lipsticks (though I'm sure I'll be getting more!) but I needed some fall blushes. I love plums and dark rose colors on my cheeks in the fall. It really warms up my face so I don't look like I'm Snow White. hehe. I ordered two from NYX and I can't wait to see how they look! I'll do a review on them and their eye primer when they come in.

That's all for now!

New Website!

So, my best friend is an artist and she made an awesome website showing off her pieces, amongst other things. She inspired me to create my own. I can post my blog, makeup looks I've done on myself and others, drawing and graphics that I've done, and I'm also getting into photography. It's just so much easier to have everything on one site, rather than having to go to several. So hopefully people view it, and like it!

My obsession with Pinups...

I have always been obsessed with the classic pinup looks that Marilyn Monroe and Bettie Page have done back in their days. It's a look that's never gone out of style. It's simple, yet beautiful. I love the classic look of it, and the more edgier rockabilly look.

Here's my own spin on the look :)

Tipping isn't a city in China...

So this is completely off topic in this blog, but it's my blog and I'll write what I want.

I've been working at a restaurant for the last 8 years and though I do like my job and the people I work with it's hard when you have such a horrible and disrespectful clientele. Some of these people should be ashamed of themselves when they are in public. Servers make less than $3 an hour and depend on their tips to pay their bills, rent, etc. Their job is hectic enough on a busy night without some assholes coming in, running them ragged and tipping them $5 on a $100 check. While I agree a server should be tipped according to their performance as a server, it's not fair to those who bust their asses and see no rewards from it.

If you can afford to go out to eat and order everything on the menu, then you can tip your server. Bottom line. People think it's funny to come in and complain for no reason and expect their meals to be free and not tip the server. The server actually ends up having to pay for the morons to eat. How is that fair? Then of course the next time you come in you're going to get shitty service. Why should we bust our asses to make you happy when we get nothing out of it? We're there to make money and take care of you to the best of our ability. Not for you to act like we're your slaves and make us run around like crazy while you sit there and laugh and complain. People think because we're servers we're under educated or drug addicts. Though that may be true for some people, most of the servers I know are paying their way through school, have families, or genuinely enjoy the field. It's not fair for us to be made a mockery of and unappreciated for what we do. We're humans and we deserve the same respect everyone else does.

Tattoos...

So, I recently just got my 9th tattoo. It was a cover up for the second tattoo I got when I was 19. It was done on a whim and I thought it was cool at the time. I've hated it for years and decided to cover it up.

Anyway, I've always been into tattoos. The way they look on the body, the fact that you can have amazing pieces of art on your skin forever. I love them. Some people don't like them, or they think they make you look trashy. I do agree with that in a way. Some people just don't care about the quality of the tattoo they choose to get. They get them done at houses or have friends who are just learning do them because they are cheap. I'll tell you what people. Cheap tattoos LOOK CHEAP. It doesn't matter how cool the stencil is or what it says. If it's done poorly it looks like crap. You can have "Asshole" written on your arm but if it's done by a good artist it can look pretty bad ass. lol.

Anyway, This winter I'm planning on getting a sleeve done. It's something I've wanted done for a while even though my mom and a few others think I shouldn't do it. Honestly, I don't care what they think. They don't have to look at it. I'm an adult. It's my arm, and my money. If you have a problem don't look at it and keep your comments to yourself. That's my way of looking at it. I don't care what I'm going to look like when I'm 80. I'll be more worried about peeing myself than what my tattoos look like.

You can be almost covered in tattoos and still be beautiful...

My top 8 celebrity inspirations for makeup!

1. Marilyn Monroe

This woman was absolutely, stunningly gorgeous. She had such a classic look. You can never go wrong with some black winged liner and ruby red lips. This look would never be played out.

2. Kim Kardashian

I usually always love her makeup. She always has that smokey eye and pale lips. Sometimes she changes it up with just some black liner and bright pink lips.

3. Jenna Jameson

I am a HUGE fan of the porn star makeup look. I love dark smokey shadows and pale pink or nude lips. It's not the best for an every day look, but it's hot for a night out.

4. Rihanna

She does so many different looks in her videos and they always look awesome. She always uses such bright colors.

5. Katy Perry

She has her own spin on the classic Marilyn look and also plays around with bright colors and different looks. She always looks gorgeous.

6. Shirley Manson

I'm a huge fan of dark thick eyes. I Love the smudgey smokey look she often has.

7. Gwen Stefani

Yeah... this woman is just gorgeous. She can do no wrong. lol...

8. Lady GaGa

Okay, so most of her looks you can't wear every day... or at all. lol. I just love how outrageous her makeup usually is and that she isn't afraid to make a statement. I just lover her actually. hahahaha...

Urban Decay Fun palette and ELF eye shadow primer review!

First I'll start with the Urban Decay Fun palette.

This palette is perfect for the Spring/Summer seasons. The colors are very vibrant and pretty. This palette features the colors (Top - left to right) Woodstock, Baked, Uzi (Bottom - left to right) Sin, Flipside, Psychedelic Sister. I love all the colors in this palette. Baked and Sin are also in the Urban Decay Naked palette and those are two of my favorites. You can do all kinds of fun looks with this palette for day or night! I was inspired by Katy Perry's new video for "Last Friday Night" and copied her look with this palette.

Now on to the ELF eye shadow primer. This costs a dollar and you can't go wrong with that! I actually think it's pretty good. It goes on a little wetter than the Urban Decay primer so you have time to blend it out. You should wait at least 10 seconds before applying a base or an eye shadow. My eye shadow didn't crease at all when I used this and it's the summer so it's hot. I think it's a dollar very well spent! ELF stands for Eyes Lips Face and they have great products anywhere from $1 to $6. Their brushes are pretty good also. They have brushes for a $1 and the studio brushes are $3.

That's all for today. Thanks for reading! <3 x0x0

Nars Laguna bronzer and Orgasm blush vs. E.L.F. Cosmetics dupes.

A while back I purchased the E.L.F. version of the Nars Laguna bronzer/Orgasm blush duo after reading that it's extremely close to the Nars version. I used it a few times and I thought it was okay. It wasn't very pigmented.

Recently I just purchased the Nars Laguna bronzer and the Orgasm blush. I LOVE them and while the ELF versions colors are VERY close to the Nars version, the Nars version is more pigmented and prettier. The ELF version is $5 I think. The Laguna bronzer is $33 and the Orgasm blush is $23. For those of you on a budget the ELF version would be better for you. If you want to splurge on yourself though, I'd say go for the Nars.

Urban Decay Naked Palette!!

So, I know I've been a little neglectful of my blog. I had a lot going on and I haven't really had time to update any reviews. I'm back now!

So today I'm going to review something so amazing, so wonderful and so gorgeous! The Urban Decay Naked palette. I had been trying to get my hands on this palette forever and I FINALLY was able to purchase it about a month ago. It's in high demand so sometimes it's impossible to get.

Let me just tell you, the colors in this palette are beautiful. They are very pigmented and you can do so many looks with them. You can do a sultry smokey look, a fresh daytime look, or a nice glamorous feminine look. It's tough to decide which to do first! It also comes with a brush. Its a good one. It used to come with a double sided eyeliner, but it doesn't anymore. Here is a picture of the swatches I found online.

This palette is $48 at Sephora. It's a little pricey, but it's SO worth it. You won't have to go out and buy eyeshadow for a while! Well, unless you're like me. haha.

Hope you guys enjoyed this review and if you purchase this I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Home Exfoliating Recipes!!!

It's Winter, and it's cold. Your skin tends to chap and flake, and we all just hate that don't we? Here's a CHEAP ( we all LOVE that) way to exfoliate your skin!

All you need is one orange ( you can also use lemons if you like) and a plate of granulated sugar. Cut the orange in half and use one half of the orange. Wet your face with warm water. Take the orange half and dip it into the sugar so it covers the orange ( not the peel) and GENTLY make small circles on your face. You can even run it over your lips. This will get rid of any dead skin on your face and the orange wakes up your skin making you feel nice and refreshed! Rinse again with warm water and you're all set! You're skin is left feeling soft and flake free!!

Friday is Favorite Item of the Week day!!! This week is.... Physicians Formula Bronze Booster!!!

I am Italian and German, you would think I'd have a nice olive skin color going on but NO! I am as pale as they come. There is nothing wrong with having beautiful porcelain skin. I have dark hair so it tends to wash me out and make me look a little sickly. lol. I've tried many bronzers, self tanners and they always made me look like this

Obviously, that isn't the look I was going for. I was shopping around for an affordable, decent bronzer and a good friend of mine mentioned the Physicians Formula Bronze Booster. So I thought I'd give it a try. You can get it at any drugstore for about $13. I tried it out the next day and I LOVED it!!! It doesn't make you look orange at all! I've also been tanning a bit so it makes your tan look darker without overdoing it at the tanning salon! You can either put it all over or just where the sun naturally hits your face, cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin. It also looks good layered on cheeks with a pink or peachy blush.

This is the kind of tan we want ladies. A nice summer glow without looking like an oompa loompa. haha.

Drugstore Mascaras! The good, the bad, and the awesome!

To me, you can't have a great eye look without some awesome mascara. I've tried pretty much every brand and type there is. Here's my review on the best, the worst and the awesome!

Let's start with the Falsies by Maybelline. I just picked this one up and I have to say I like it. My lashes are naturally long, so it gives a nice dramatic affect to them. It isn't very clumpy and it goes on nicely.

Next is the Cover Girl Lash Blast Luxe in Black Royale. This one has a shimmery blue tint to it that I think looks good with a smokey eye. It gives great volume to your lashes.

Next is the Maybelline Great Lash. This mascara has been around forever. It doesn't clump and it separates your lashes quite nicely! This was always one of my favorites. They have a waterproof version and it's great also, but hard to remove.

We have the Colossal Lash by Maybelline. I used to use this one a lot. It gives good volume and gives a little Oomph to your lashes. The only thing I didn't like is, it has a really strange smell and it also exploded. You have to be careful how you store it. Mine was in my makeup drawer and I took the cap off one day and it like, melted out all over the place.

Then we have the Lash Stiletto by  Maybelline. I wasn't a big fan of this one. I thought it was clumpy and didn't really do much for my lashes. But some people like it.

The Cover Girl Lash Blast is probably one of my favorites. It always makes my lashes look super long and thick and it doesn't clump. I use this one and the Falsies almost every day.

Those are just some of the different kinds that I've tried and thought I'd share with you. Remember to change your mascara every three months!

The Balm - Hot Mama blush and Shady Lady Vol. 2 eye shadow palette

So since I've recently discovered makeup brand "The Balm" I'll do my first review on that.

The first is the Hot Mama blush. ($19 @ Sephora) I LOOOVE it. It's a peachy glittery color, but it goes on nicely and looks really good. It's similar to Nars Orgasm blush but it's more peach than pink. It would look good on any skin color. I've recently gone tanning so I'm a little darker than usual and I think it looks good with tanned skin, but it would look good on fair skin also.

Next is the Shady Lady Vol. 2 eye shadow palette. ($39.50 @ Sephora) A girl I work with showed me the Shady Lady Vol. 1 eye shadow palette and I loved it. The colors are gorgeous and very pigmented. They go on great! The colors in this palette are:

1. Caught in the act Courtney ( almost like an espresso brown with copper glitter. Good for use as a liner)
2. Feisty Falicia ( Black with plum glitter. Good for use as a liner.)
3. Insane Jane ( A pewter/silver color. Good for use as a liner.)
4. Bossy Bobby ( A very pretty dark blue. Good for use as a liner.)
5. Makeout Mary ( A nice green color. Good for use as a liner.)
6. Just this once Jamie (A pretty purplish color)
                                                      7. Mischievous Marissa ( A gorgeous bronze color)
                                                      9. Tempting Tara ( A frost white for highlighting)
                                                     10. Devilish Danielle ( A nice nude/beige color.)

Ten awesome colors and you can do a lot of different looks with them! Eventually I'll get to posting some looks I've done with them. Until next time...

First Post!!

I decided to make a beauty blog because I am obsessed with anything involving makeup and hair care. I went to school for cosmetology so I know what I am talking about. I like to try all kinds of makeup whether it be from the department store or the drug store.

I'll be posting my reviews about products I've used or purchased. Tips on application and storage and other fun stuff.
